An 1857 Pattern Royal Engineers Officer's Presentation Sword
82cm blade by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London, numbered 9268 for 1858 etched with scrolling foliage, crowned VR cypher and presentation inscription, regulation brass hilt pierced with foliage, wire bound fish skin covered grip, in its steel scabbard, two suspension rings.

    Richard Henry Beaumont Beaumont, Lieutenant 22nd June 1858, Captain 19th June 1872. In 1873 he commanded the 28th Company of Royal Engineers, Aldershot, Major 20th December 1875, 1880 commanded the 36th Company Royal Engineers, Chatham, honorary Lieutenant Colonel 1st July 1881. Retired 1882, died 1884.
