A Rifle Officer's Presentation Sword
82cm blade of levee weight by E. Thurkle, Maker, 5 Denmark Street, Soho, London, etched with scrolling foliage, a crowned slung bugle horn and VR cypher, owner's crest and presentation inscription, regulation plated steel gothic hilt, incorporating a slung bugle horn, wire bound fish skin covered grip, in its plated steel scabbard, two suspension ring.

  • The inscription reads: 2nd L. R. V. Presented to Capt. L. M. Cantlon by the Officers Non-Commissioned officers and Men of 1 Company as a mark of their esteem & regard & in recognition of his zeal & energy while in command of the Company, Jany. 24th 1882.
