A Mameluke Hilted Officer's Levee Sabre of the 18th Hussars
77cm unfullered blade with clipped back point by Cater & Co, 56 Pall Mall, London, brightly etched against a matt ground with foliate scrolls, crowned VR cypher, regimental badge and motto and Peninsular and Waterloo battle honours, gilt mounted hilt, the crossguard cast with scrolls, the ecusson applied on the outside face with the regimental badge and motto in silver (slight damage), two-piece ivory grips, in its plated steel scabbard with gilt mounts cast and pierced with scrolling foliage, two suspension rings, complete with knot of gold cord and acorn.
