78cm unfullered blade with clipped back point manufactured by E. Thurkle, Soho, London, brightly etched against a matt ground, with scrolls, a stand of arms, naval trophies and on each side a panel of calligraphy, gilt mounted hilt, the crossguard with recurved quillons with acorn terminals cast with acorns and oakleaves, the ecusson each with a fouled anchor, two-piece ivory grips, in its leather scabbard with gilt mounts embossed with acorns and oakleaves, the chape also embossed with entwined dolphins and a scallop shell, the locket with opposed suspension rings, complete with sword knot of gold and blue cord and acorn.
