A Georgian Mameluke Hilted Sabre
78.5cm Pipe-Back blade with spear point, etched for most of its length with scrolling foliage, stands of arms, an angel, a Union spray and crowned GR cypher, gilt mounted hilt cast with leaf decoration, the quillons terminating in acanthus buds, two-piece ivory grips (slight chip), in its steel scabbard covered with maroon velvet (recovered), gilt mounts decorated with leaves, the chape a replacement, two suspension rings.
