84cm unfullered blade with clipped back point by Cater & Co, Pall Mall, London, SW., brightly etched against a matt ground with scrolling foliage and crowned VR cypher, gilt mounted hilt, the crossguard cast with foliate scrolls, the ecusson now applied on each side with a crowned GRV cypher in silver, two-piece ivory grips, in its plated steel scabbard with foliate decorated brass mounts, two suspension rings, complete with sword knot of silver and blue cord and acorn.
