Footnotes

  • This copy varies from the previous lot in that it has serrated rather than circular mounting seals, in each case of the same colour. Although it has only one of the chromolithographed plates it is a first edition, rather than one of the "spurious" copies with white seal mounts. It also includes a signed portrait of Aldam, the variant showing him resting his head on his hand, whilst holding a copy of Quaint Treatise.
