Of distinctive shaped outline, painted in famille rose enamels with Chinese style flowers beside a fence, 17cm long

  • This curious shape of spoon tray is unique to Longton Hall. An example by the so-called 'Castle Painter' is illustrated by Bernard Watney, Longton Hall Porcelain, pl. 65A and was sold in our London rooms on 10 May 2000, lot 511. Another in blue and white was in the Geoffrey Godden Collection sold by Bonhams 30 June 2010, lot 1.
