An Isleworth teapot with a Lowestoft cover, circa 1770-80
An interesting teapot attributed to Isleworth, circa 1770-80

Sold for £750 inc. premium

Footnotes

  • Another teapot of the same shape and pattern from the Geoffrey Godden Collection was sold at Bonhams London on 30 June 2010, lot 107. This also bore a hatched crescent mark, copied from Worcester, unlike the more usual open crescent used at Lowestoft. The moulded form of the handle strongly suggests an Isleworth attribution for these two teapots, as does the appearance of the glaze.
