Footnotes

  • An attractive copy - with an unusually late use of a Tudor rose tool on the binding - of this work in Virgilian verse, which relates the principal Biblical events from the death of Abel to the ascension of Christ. Ross is probably best remembered for his translation from the French of the Koran, the first version in English.
