A pair of 18ct gold Royal presentation cufflinks, by Garrard & Co. Ltd.
Presented by the Prince of Wales, circa 1928, each cufflink composed of oval panel terminals with chain-link connections between, engraved with the Prince of Wales feathers and the Order of the Garter with initial E, in signed fitted case impressed with Prince of Wales feathers to cover, length of each panel 1.9cm.

  • Presented to the current owner's grandfather, Major Sir Granville St. John Orde Browne, CMG, OBE, after he accompanied the Prince of Wales on a tour of Africa in 1928. After being commissioned in the Royal Artillery in 1902 Orde Browne led a distinguished career throughout Africa, serving in both the Zulu uprising in 1906 and the campaign against German East Africa. He retired with the rank of Major and was knighted by the King at Buckingham Palace on 28th January 1947.
