The Gothic arch backs with a plinth below, each with a figure, one depicting Queen Elizabeth I and the other Sir Walter Raleigh with his cloak draped on the ground, the base of Sir W.Raleigh's stamped '...from the Houses of Parliament',

  • These bookends/table lamps are reputed to have been crafted from oak and lead salvaged from the Great Fire of the Houses of Parliament. The fire devastated Westminster on the 16th of October 1834.
