89cm blade by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London, etched with foliate scrolls, crowned VR cypher, regimental badge, title and number, battle honour Waterloo, and owner's crest and initials T.F.G., regulation steel three bar hilt, wire bound fish skin grip, in its steel scabbard with two suspension rings.

  • The sword of Sir Thomas Fraser Grove, 1st Bt. He was born on 27 November 1823. He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 6th Dragoons. He held the office of High Sheriff of Wiltshire in 1863, and was Member of Parliament for South Wiltshire between 1865 and 1874. He was created 1st Baronet Grove, of Ferne, Wiltshire on 18 March 1874, and gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Wiltshire Yeomanry Cavalry. He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant of Wiltshire, and was Member of Parliament for Wilton between 1885 and 1892. He died on 14 January 1897 at age 73.
