A Victorian Royal Naval Officer's Full Dress Epaulettes
Extremely fine examples retailed by 'Bilney & Co., Portsea'. Gold lace straps, crescents and loose gold bullion fringes. The straps embellished with silver bullion St. Edward's crowns, single stars and fouled anchors. Sprung finial buttons showing the crown over fouled anchors. Lined with black moroccan and black silk, contained in their japanned carrying tin, this with Bilney's tablet and another engraved 'Lieut F.W. Hanan. R.N.' (2)
