The Northern Division Militia Artillery, an Officer's Full Dress Sabretache, 1882-1889
A very fine and rare example from this short lived period of issue. The blue cloth face overlaid with gold train lace and enclosing the Royal Arms, laurel sprays, gilt metal cannon and title scroll, 'Northern Division'. The bag of dark blue moroccan complete with all three 'D' rings. The flap retaining stud present but requires re-siting and sewing. Some wear to the maroon velvet on the title scroll, otherwise in mint state.

Footnotes

  • The County Militia Artillery Corps were re-organised in 1882 and allied to the Royal Artillery. The Northern Division comprised four Brigades, 1st RA, 2nd Durham 3rd Northumberland and 4th Yorkshire. The Northern Division was broken up and re-distributed in 1889.
