1st King's Dragoon Guards 1847 Pattern Trooper's Helmet
The brass skull with similar trim and decorations of foliate strap and bands of acanthus, oak and laurel. The ornate frontal plate of standard pattern being a crowned rococo shield bearing a white metal star and central strap 'King's Dragoon Guards', enclosing the VR cypher. Brass plume holder, base, rose side ornaments and chin chain. Correct pattern red horse hair plume, original leather sweat band/lining. The skull with two minor surface splits and some rippling otherwise very good condition.
