The former, signed on the obverse and dated Noel N Carter 1835, the latter signed on the obverse and dated W Barclay/ 1832, black card and gilt-metal slips within gilded wood frames with foliate and scroll borders.

  • Reverend Basil Beridge (died c.1881) was rector of Algarkirk-cum-Fosdykein Lincolnshire. He was the son of Reverend Basil Bury Beridge (1737/8-1808) whose portrait, circa 1785, by Joseph Wright of Derby (1734–1797) resides in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna, Austria.
