10th (The Prince of Wales's Own Royal) Light Dragoons (Hussars) Guidon For No. 3 Troop, c1816-1830
A superb double sided example of royal blue silk, thereafter beautifully painted with the various regimental emblems. In the centre the Prince of Wales's crest and motto in silver gold and blue, surrounded by a Union wreath in greens red and purple. To the centre left and right the battle honour scrolls 'Peninsual' and 'Waterloo' in black on gold and crimson. Below the crest a gold '3'. Around the central dseign evenly spaced are four decorated oval panels, two display 'X' over 'L.D' in gold on red, and the other pair show the White Horse of Hanover on red and a narrow green 'ground'. 85 x 59 cm.
Now framed and doubly glazed. Excellent condition.
