Northumberland & Newcastle Volunteer Cavalry Officer's Undress Coatee and Shoulder Scales c1835-1855
Fine and rare examples, the short tailed coatee of navy cloth embellished with light blue facings, reveers and all edging. The double breasted front with sixteen large plated closed back buttons by 'Jennens & Co London', eight more in total to the skirts and waist.
Two small examples to each cuff. Internally a quilted white silk lining, except the short tails which are lined with black silk (frayed). The shoulder scales are made up of 'riveted' plated scales with plain crescents and reserves, they are lined with light blue cloth and edging, small plated finial buttons and tie-through laces.
Slight mothing to the sleeves of the coatee, otherwise very good overall condition. (3)
