  • Frank Debenham (1883-1965), Australian-born geologist to Scott's 'Terra Nova' expedition. He commenced an academic career as a geographer at Cambridge after World War I, and in 1925 founded the Scott Polar Research Institute, becoming its first director. "His map-making skills are best displayed in this publication" (Taurus).
