The arched hood supported on freestanding Doric columns, over the trunk with a long break arch door raised on a plinth base, enriched with prints depicting rural subjects and a sea battle, within gilt foliate, floral and diaper borders, the signed 12 inch brass Roman and Arabic dial with eagle and vase spandrels, the matted centre with subsidiary seconds and decorated calendar aperture, with an engraved signature plaque to the arch, the weight driven movement with anchor escapement, rack striking on a bell and the date ring inscribed on the reverse 'V.Thorn'. 228cm (89.75in)
