The rippled handle over a large glazed upper panel, the sides and front panels decorated with Japanese style birds in three colour gilt decoration, the Roman dial picked out in light blue and white, the silvered lever platform escapement wiht cut and compensated bimetallic balance striking on a gong 18cms (7ins) high.
