A mid 18th century chinoisserie Act of Parliament timepiece
Gabril [sic] Holland, Coventry
The 61cm (2ft) Roman and Arabic break arch dial signed in copperplate script below the chapter, with brass spade hands, bordered by shell and foliage motifs, over the short trunk with chamfered base and double ogee brackets flanking the break arch door, enriched with a typical temple scene and roosting birds, the weight driven movement with a five wheel train, anchor escapement and rectangular plates united by four knopped pillars. 156cm (61.5in) high by 77.5cm (30.5in)
