Footnotes

  • Heuer launched the Verona as late as 1978, but much to the delight of the mechanical chronograph lovers it was introduced with a Calibre 12 automatic movement. The brushed case was paragon of elegance and was reminiscent of the chronographs of the 1950's. It had a polished steel or gold bezel, which contrasted nicely with the brushed case finish and this was specific to the Verona. Fine hands and thin indices matched the dress watch appearance and the reference and serial number, often found between the lugs at 6 and 12 o'clock, were engraved on the case back.
