one side stained red, the other side left natural, kings with double pierced galleries, queens with single pierced galleries, bishops with open mitres, knights as carved horses' heads with manes, rooks as turrets with battlements, pawns with baluster knop finials,
the king 7.6cm high, the pawn 3.8cm high.
