Coldplay: Chris Martin's Yamaha CP70 piano
Sold for £6,250 inc. premium

Footnotes

  • This was purchased in the band's 'End Of Decade Clearout Sale', December 2009. According to the auction catalogue at the time, this keyboard was acquired early on in the band's live career. It was used by Chris Martin to compose the song 'Trouble', and is visible in the 'Shiver' video. The keyboard breaks into two pieces for transport, each with a metal flightcase. The cases bear the logos of The Thompson Twins and The Tindersticks and, as cases are built specifically for such items, it is believed both bands (and perhaps others) owned this CP70 before Coldplay. A certificate of authenticity signed by Coldplay accompanies the instrument.
