Harry Burton (1879-1940) was the only photographer allowed to step into the tomb with a camera when Carter and the team broke the seal.
Entering Carter's circle in 1914, he went on to produce over 12,000 images for the Metropolitan Museum of Art covering all manners of archaeology.

Known for his skill in capturing the right moment on film in a number of very challenging environments, the 1922 expedition in particular cost him a number of equipment problems and losses due to high temperatures, small spaces and sand intrusion.
