A large, imitation Persian, 'tourist' brass astrolabe, probably 19th century,
the mater has a triangular throne with hole for inserting a small compass, and has the interior engraved with an horoscope and the signs of the zodiac, the back carrying unusable scales imitating those found on true astrolabes, with rete, five plates, rule, pointer and horse (lacks the pin).
