Footnotes

  • When colour television was first officially transmitted in the UK in 1967, independent television companies ordered tentative quantities for use in small studio and outside broadcast operations.
This outfit was used by Yorkshire television from 1968 and is thought to have been used right up until the mid 1980s due to reliability factors - and costing sense.
Shows such as the first run of Emmerdale Farm would have used this system for selected takes, if not this actual camera, until the new stock emerged before the 90s.

Analogue 625-line television lived from 1967 to 2012 and will be very sadly missed.
