An 8x57mm 'Kar.98' Mauser service carbine by Amberg, no. 4133a
Flag-safety, the action with thumb-recess and charger-guide, recoil-lug, stock (cut through and partly repaired at rear of action) with semi-pistolgrip and steel butt-plate, the right side with Imperial inspectors stamps and pierced for the sling, full-length forestock (cut through in three places, two repaired) retained by two barrel-bands, the front band with bayonet-bar, sling-loop, the barrel with tangent-rearsight and block-mounted pyramidal blade-foresight with protector, the receiver ring engraved and dated Amberg/1910, and with matching numbers throughout
Weight 8lb., 13 1/8in. pull (13in. stock), 23¾in. barrel, recent London nitro proof
