Bonhams 1793 : An Ottoman Jambiya

With slightly curved tapering double-edged blade with medial ridge along each side, waisted rounded walrus-ivory grip set on one side with a foiled cabochon garnet centred on eight small turquoise beads, a silver vine-leaf within a border of black beads above, and later embossed silver pommel-cap set with an oval piece of amber, in original wooden scabbard covered in green velvet (worn) with border engraved silver locket and chape each decorated with foliage on both sides, the latter with faceted bud-shaped finial
