The first with single-edged blade damascened with silver foliage on both sides of the forte, and tapering steel hilt of circular section rising to a flat beaked pommel and decorated en suite with the forte, in its steel scabbard lined in velvet-covered wood and pierced along each side with foliage inhabited by gold-damascened birds; the second with single-edged blade with gold-damascened inscription along the back on one side, the forte with gold-damascened stars on each side, and beaked brass hilt chased with foliage along both sides, in original wood-lined brass scabbard en suite; the third with brass mounts, in its red lacquered saya; the last of copper decorated with horses and birds against a punched ground one side (worn), the blade (pitted) signed in Japanese characters on one side (4)
