In excavated condition, with tapering recurved single-edged blade very slightly overlapping along the back on each side, integral hilt of unusual form comprising tapering quillon-block made in one with the grip and right angled pommel each of square section, the latter with hooked terminal and surmounted by a rounded projection retaining the remains of a staple
