Mid-19th Century
With octagonal sighted rifled barrel retaining very faint traces of retailer's details along the top flat, cylinder (filed off) with recessed nipples, foliate scroll engraved rounded action (defective) with nipple-shield and stamped 'Registered April 24 1852' on top, sliding thumbpiece safety-catch on the left, engraved bar-hammer with chequered spur and stamped 'Baker's Patent' on one side, foliate engraved trigger-guard and butt-plate, figured butt (minor worming and repair) with chequered pistol-grip, and vacant silver escutcheon on the pommel (steel parts pitted), Birmingham proof marks
