Both Early 19th Century
The first with russet two-stage sighted barrel with octagonal breech, tang engraved with foliage, brass lock and pan, the former engraved with foliage at the tail, half-stock with chequered rounded butt, mounts comprising foliate engraved trigger-guard and rounded ovoidal pommel with a flower-head, and brass ramrod-pipe (ramrod missing, steel parts with some surface rust), Liège proof; the second with octagonal sighted polygroove rifled barrel, engraved tang with folding-leaf back-sight, border engraved lock (action defective, cock replaced) with rainproof pan and roller, figured full stock with chequered butt and bird's head pommel, iron mounts including faceted ramrod-pipes, and vacant shield-shaped silver escutcheon opposite the lock (fore-end cap and ramrod missing, iron parts lightly pitted overall) (2)
