With finely twist and damascus turn-off octagonal polygroove rifled barrels, bright foliate engraved actions (one defective), hammers and folding triggers, rounded ebony butts each numbered '440' over '45', and shaped border engraved white-metal butt-caps each with hinged circular butt-trap cover decorated with foliage: in original fitted case veneered in ebony and lined in burgundy velvet with full accessories (two old replacements), the exterior of the lid (slightly warped) with shaped brass escutcheon engraved with owner's monogram within a border of brass stringing, Liège proof
