The first converted from flintlock, with swamped octagonal sighted polygroove rifled barrel, plain breech, foliate engraved tang, flat bevelled lock signed in script and engraved with foliage on the tail, figured full stock set with a border of silver beading around the barrel tang, the borders around the lock, side-plates and pommel carved with beading en suite, unusually chequered butt set with silver pins, engraved steel mounts comprising shaped side-nail plates, rounded pommel-cap engraved with a crowned human head within drapery, trigger-guard with urn-shaped finial and decorated with foliage on the bow, vacant silver escutcheon opposite the lock, turned ramrod-pipes, and later ramrod; the second with octagonal sighted barrel, engraved tang with back-sight, border engraved flat lock, figured half-stock with chequered butt and ovoidal pommel, foliate engraved steel mounts, and brass-tipped ramrod (both with some wear and rust patination), Liège proof (2)
