With sighted barrel retained by a barrel band towards the muzzle and engraved 'Whitworth Patent' behind the folding adjustable calibrated back-sight, breech lever stamped 'Manufactured By Westley Richards', signed lock dated within a triangle on the tail, figured full stock stamped 'OVS' (abbreviated Afrikaans for Orange Free State) on each side of the butt and opposite the lock on one side, and regulation steel mounts including butt-plate with hinged circular cover opening to reveal a cleaning tool (steel parts with some rust patination, ramrod and one sling mount missing), Birmingham proof marks
