With plain sighted barrel and tang, dated border engraved flat lock with 'Tower' and 'VR' crowned on the tail, chained nipple-protector, figured full stock (some bruising) stamped with inspector's marks behind the trigger-guard tang, supplier's name 'D.W. Witton' beneath the butt, and with Board of Ordnance ownership mark above 'III.O.R.' on the right side, regulation brass mounts, sling loops, Lovell's bayonet-catch, and later steel ramrod (some wear and light pitting), Ordnance view and proof marks
