The first with russet barrel and tang, signed dated flat lock, figured stock, regulation brass mounts comprising pommel with lanyard ring, and stirrup ramrod (fore-end cap and ramrod-pipe missing, iron parts rust patinated); the second with russet barrel retained by a barrel band also forming the ramrod-entry and linked to the side-plate, breech stamped with various marks, plain tang, lock (defective) faintly etched 'Mre Rle de Maubeuge', half-stock, regulation steel mounts including slightly-beaked pommel-cap with lanyard ring, and steel ramrod (steel parts rust patinated) (2)
