The First Tuareg, All Late 19th/Early 20th Century
The first with double-edged blade swelling towards the point and with shallow medial ridge along each side, and ivory grip of X-form sparsely punched with dots at the top on one side, in original tooled leather scabbard with twist leather arm thong; the second with double-edged spear-shaped blade with incised line decoration along both sides, waisted wooden grip bound with copper ribbon, and beak-shaped faceted iron pommel; the last with double-edged blade incised with lines converging toward the point on each side, and wooden grip of circular section entirely bound with leather strips and surmounted by a flat cone-shaped iron pommel punched with a border of dots on both sides (3)
