With tapering blade fullered on both sides along half its length, double-edged towards the point and stamped with cutler's name 'Paton' on one side at the forte, shouldered rootwood hilt carved with triangular line ornament on each side, and with celtic interlace and dots on the swelling grip, brass mounts comprising basal mount, shoulder-straps, and circular pommel with concentric rings and retained by a cusped nut
