A 1796 Pattern Heavy Cavalry Trooper's Sword
Retailed By Osborn & Gunby, Early 19th Century
With bright fullered blade double-edged towards the point and stamped with retailer's name on the back at the forte, regulation steel stirrup hilt (some pitting) with rounded pommel and back-piece in one, and ribbed leather-covered grip bound with twisted brass wire (binding incomplete), in its steel scabbard stamped 'J' over '46' at the locket, and with two rings for suspension
