A 1751 Pattern Sword Of The Lincoln Militia
Mid-Late 18th Century
With slightly curved blade (some pitting) double-edged towards the point and with a narrow fuller along the back on each side, the forte on each side with traces of running wolf mark and initials of Samuel Harvey of Birmingham, brass hilt comprising heart-shaped guard (rear quillon missing) with two rounded bars swept-up to join the knuckle-guard, the former engraved 'M=Lincoln=S=B [South Battalion]', and numbered 'III/36', globular pommel with flattened button, and swelling spirally twist grip
