Two Turkish Silver-Mounted Flintlock Holster Pistols
Turkish Silver Marks, 19th Century
Forming a pair, each with barrel retaining some foliate decoration at the breech, plain tangs, rounded locks struck with crescentic and circular maker's marks respectively, one with roller, full stocks each inlaid overall with differing designs of silver wire and shaped silver panels, the latter secured by pins and pierced along each side of the fore-stocks, the butts including stars and crescents, mounts comprising shaped side-plates, spurred pommels with domed caps, trigger-guards with shaped finials, silver fore-end plates, and false ramrods (some wear and minor loss of inlay) (2)
