A Rare North Indian Pesh-Kabz
Late 18th/19th Century
With sharply tapering finely watered blade of T-section with bright reinforced cutting-edge, and beaked rounded iron hilt chiselled with gold-damascened foliage and quatrefoils set with cabochon turquoise beads (replaced on one grip, some losses), the quatrefoils within gilt cartouche-shaped borders, in original wooden scabbard covered in green velvet (worn) with locket and chape en suite, the latter with chiselled bud-shaped terminal (some wear and surface rust)
