The action incorporating W.R. Pape action patent no. 1645 of 9th May 1874, toplever, rebounding sidelocks with C-scroll hammers, percussion fences, foliate-scroll engraving, some hardening-colour, figured stock (cracked and plated at top horns) with ornate border chequering and engraved heel-and-toe plates, the forend chequered en suite, the rebrowned damascus barrels with game-rib (loose) engraved W.R. Pape, Newcastle-On-Tyne, Winner of the London Gun Trials in 1858, 1859, 1866 & 1875
