The First Balujistan, All 19th Century
The first of iron and of convex form, with applied brass rim and four domed bosses each with serrated border and incised with concentric circles centred on a dot, the bosses centred on a further boss with pierced border and surrounded by four large applied pierced brass ovals and four crescents each decorated en suite, the interior retaining its red velvet lining and padded bracer; the second of convex brown lacquered leather, the outer surface with four brass bosses each cast with a human face within a pierced border, painted overall in polychrome with a border of tigers and antelope highlighted in white and centred on a gilt roundel; the last of convex thick leather lacquered in imitation of tortoiseshell, the outer surface with four domed iron bosses each with a border of cusped 'horns', the interior with padded leather bracer (3)
