The first with recurved blade, and characteristic rounded hardwood grip deeply carved with foliage, in original two-piece hardwood scabbard secured by pairs of silver rings and with deep silver locket and chape each chased with foliage within roped and beaded borders, the former with characteristic rounded hardwood mount; the second of characteristic form, with slightly recurved single-edged blade overlaid with a chased brass strip along the back, within the fuller along the top edge on each side with brass chased with foliage, and with a silver panel beneath embossed with foliage, brass mount either side of the forte engraved with interlaced foliage and with a monster beneath, rounded ivory grips carved with foliage, silver mounts including pommel-cap embossed and chased with foliage, and brass button finial; the last with single-edged blade fullered along the back on each side, hilt with nielloed silver basal mount of circular section, and ivory grip (foliate cagework almost entirely missing) carved overall in relief with standing figures and demons, two in a cart, and with wrestlers at the top (3)
