With bright turn-off barrels engraved with a broad band of foliage around each muzzle, bright foliate engraved actions signed within an oval on one side, engraved thumbpiece safety-catches each locking the sprung cap-retainer (one incomplete), the latter each in the form of a steel, blued folding triggers, finely chequered figured rounded butts, vacant silver escutcheons, and in fine condition: in original fitted mahogany case lined in burgundy baize with turned cylindrical ivory gunpowder container and combined barrel wrench and nipple key, the interior of the lid with handwritten label inscribed 'Pair of Pistols Date About 1820', the exterior with shaped vacant brass escutcheon, Birmingham proof marks
